We are pleased that Council has developed this Vitality Plan and welcome its long-term, broad vision for the future of the centre of Armidale city. It is heartening to know that previous submissions have been considered and that there is a declared intention to act upon such suggestions.

Our former committee members have all lived in the region for decades and we are pleased to see Council considering a long-term, well argued vision for the city.

We were delighted to read in the Vitality Plan that the creeklands are recognised as ‘the city’s most significant landscape asset’ and that they are a high priority part of the proposed North-South spine.

However, most importantly, nowhere does the plan mention that the creeklands will only be attractive when they are re-engineered to deliver a healthy, bubbling stream, with ponds, billabongs, wetlands, etc. as we have suggested for many years.
